DEPARTMENT/SCHOOL: Human Resources
JOB TITLE: HR Operations Manager
SALARY & HOURS: Band 6 £58,105 Full time (35 hours per week) / hybrid minimum 4 days on campus
The University of Buckingham has a unique atmosphere, unlike that of any other higher educational institution. Despite being the UK’s smallest university and the only independent university to hold a Royal Charter, Buckingham has staff from over 60 countries, making it a truly distinctive work environment. Whichever of our locations you find yourself working in, you will be sure to feel a part of our friendly community. Our size enables us to foster a very personalised, supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment, with lots of opportunity for development, something which we are very proud of.
The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.
We have an exciting vacancy for a HR Operations Manager to join our Human Resources team at the heart of our University.
This is a great opportunity to develop a new role that will be a key contributor to the delivery of core HR services across the entire employee lifecycle, as well as leading change, coordinating HR projects. The role will also take the lead on system and data reporting (such as HESA reporting and Gender Pay Gap reports), policy governance and strategy compliance.
The postholder will be responsible for line managing our small HR Administration team, and act as a mentor to other colleagues, in an effort to share knowledge and experience in order to help develop those around them and build a truly robust and cohesive unit.
Excellent communication skills are a must for this role, as is being able to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. Being able to both challenge and support is key, as is the ability to identify solutions to sometimes complex and sensitive scenarios. Attention to detail alongside the ability to analyse and interrogate data are essential attributes for the role.
We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, but we are invested in our people and their development, so we encourage you to apply if you believe you have the majority of the skills and experience required and are keen to develop further!
What can we offer you?
We might be small, but we can still offer plenty of perks! In addition to an Aviva Pension scheme, we offer:
• Beautiful working environments across our campuses, with plenty of space
